Overview
The V-SLIM is a compact, high-precision electrical line integrity monitor designed for continuous insulation resistance measurement in ungrounded (unearthed) and floating electrical systems. Originally developed for subsea control and distribution networks, it offers the same precision and reliability for multiple industries requiring real-time electrical condition visibility.
Unlike traditional topside LIMs, which can only measure insulation resistance from a single point, V-SLIM provides localised monitoring throughout the network. Depending on system design, topside devices may not see the entire electrical landscape, leaving blind spots where insulation degradation can go undetected. V-SLIM overcomes this limitation by placing intelligence closer to the potential source of faults, bringing unseen issues to light.
Installed locally within a network, V-SLIM measures both total system and downstream insulation resistance, revealing overlooked areas in electrical integrity and shedding light on developing risks before they escalate. By monitoring trends over time, operators can prevent unplanned failures and optimise maintenance scheduling. Two variants are available: the V-SLIM Canister for subsea applications and the V-SLIM Eurocard PCBA for embedded and OEM integration across multiple industries. Both offer the accuracy and reliability required for long-term asset performance in demanding environments.
